01 · MOUNTAIN HISTORY · SHIJONAWATE
Iimori Castle Ruins
A large mountain castle site associated with the warlord Miyoshi Nagayoshi. Stone walls, ridge paths and wide views make the landscape part of the story.
This route involves a mountain hike. Wear suitable shoes and avoid the trail during severe weather.
02 · SHRINE WALK · SHIJONAWATE
Shijonawate Shrine
A hillside shrine dedicated to Kusunoki Masatsura. The long approach, stone steps and surrounding memorial sites reveal how local history is remembered.
The approach includes slopes and steps. Visit quietly and follow shrine etiquette.
03 · FOREST DAY TRIP · NEARBY KATANO
Hoshi no Buranko Bridge
A 280-metre suspension bridge above the forest in Hoshida Park. It is outside Shijonawate, but works well as a nearby outdoor day trip.

Mountain paths, stations and nearby attractions are spread across the area. JR Shijonawate Station is in neighbouring Daito City. JR Shinobugaoka Station is located within Shijonawate City. Open directions from your current location rather than relying on a fixed travel time.

Ikoma and Mount Shigi.
These places are outside Shijonawate. They are useful additions for travellers driving through the mountain area or planning a longer day.
Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park
A mountain-top amusement park with views toward Osaka and Nara. Check the operating calendar before travelling.
